I have three New Year's resolutions:
1. Get a job.
2. Get a job.
3. Get a job.
I shall list my other resolves when the first three have been met.
(Off topic, I must say I'm still impressed with the macro/spot focus capability on my trusty ol' Canon G1. Even picked up the newspaper fibers quite sharply in my original pic. Note to self: must try it on my private parts some day ... in macro mode, of course ;-p).)

I wish you good luck and well wishes on this!
Thank you, Rick. I sure hope something hits soon. For now, I'm just brushing up on my skills. At least the ones mentioned on my resume.
Good luck with that. Just out of curiosity - what kind of technical writing do you do? I'm a copywriter / can do technical writing because of my last job. I went out on my own 2 years ago and discovered I can make a living doing website content.
Turns out, having the technical aptitude puts writers like us miles above the average copywriter when it comes to being qualified to write web copy. 90% of my work comes from web developers desperate to find a writer who can populate the sites they're building.
You should look into it - even if you're not interested in the unpredictable nature of freelance (I can only do it b/c the Husband carries insurance and a steady paycheck) might be a good way to bring in supplemental money while you're looking for something permanent.
